Yūjirō Benzai (弁財 酉次郎, Benzai Yūjirō)[3] is member of Scepter 4.
Appearance
Yūjirō Benzai is a tall, slim man with flat, chin-length brown hair and brown eyes.[4]
He wears a uniform typical of the Blue Clansmen. It consists of a white shirt tucked underneath a closed, blue overcoat with prominent black and gold-colored lining. Below the waist, he wears dark blue pants and knee-high, low-heeled black boots with metallic plates attached to the nose and end.
Personality
Though little has been shown of his true nature, Yūjirō Benzai is known to be a calm, practical individual. He tends to be very quiet around even his colleagues though he can respond in a professional manner.
Plot
Yūjirō Benzai's Aura, combined with that of his other members.
Yūjirō Benzai and others from his group are called to a hotel suite that another group, HOMRA, is currently occupying. Under the orders of his superior, Seri Awashima, he draws out his sword in preparation for the battle between Scepter 4 and HOMRA.[5]
Benzai reporting his information to Fushimi.
Sometime after, Yūjirō Benzai returns to the Scepter 4 headquarters where he conducts more research on Yashiro Isana, using information extracted from the video depicting Tatara Totsuka's murder. While his colleagues Himori Akiyama and Fushimi are looking into more data regarding the white-haired man, Yūjirō Benzai looks into their force's criminal logs. However, he cannot find anyone who would bear any connection to Yashiro. He reports this information to Fushimi and continues working.[4] Eventually, his other colleagues, including Seri Awashima, join the three on their work.[6] Afterwards, Yūjirō Benzai accompanies Seri, Fushimi and Himori Akiyama to Ashinaka High School to complete their investigation.[7]
Sometime later, he joins several members of his Clan to a local soccer stadium to confront Yashiro and Kuroh. Benzai takes his battle stance under his Lieutenant's orders, though he remains on standstill throughout the whole event.[8]
Benzai waits quietly in the truck.
The following afternoon, Benzai is assigned to continue pursuit of Yashiro Isana and his two accomplices. While on a freeway, they surround a pickup truck and investigate the cargo in the back. However, they find that their targets are nowhere to be found.[9]
Benzai would later join his Clansmen to a local airport so that they can use the helicopters there and bring the Silver King, Adolf K. Weismann, from the Himmelreich so that he can be taken into custody. Benzai remains quiet while waiting inside the vehicles, though at one point, he tells Dōmyōji and Kamo to stop talking. Later on, Benzai listens as Captain Munakata explains his reasons for wanting to contact Weismann despite the fact that their actions will be against Protocol 120. Throughout his explanation, Benzai simply listens on.[9]
Eventually, they arrive at the airport and board the helicopters, taking off to continue their objective. However, due to the unexpected explosion of the Himmelreich, doubled with a crash impact into the aircraft's engines from one of the Blue Clansmen's operative helicopters, followed by a subsequent crash landing of both vehicles, Scepter 4 ultimately fails their mission.[9]
Benzai returns with a report.
Benzai accompanies Seri Awashima to the crash site of their fallen helicopter. During which, he eventually reports that the Clansmen supposed to have been operating the vehicle have been found in a hanger at the airport, furthermore with no memory of even flying their helicopter after boarding it.[10]
Back at headquarters, Mikoto Suoh manages to free himself from his shackles and successfully break out from his prison cell, despite the combined efforts of multiple Blue Clansmen, including Benzai's, to keep him confined. As such, Benzai and several other Clansmen hurry outside to barricade the exit and prevent the Red King from escaping the vicinity. Unfortunately, they fail to complete their task and Mikoto ends up leaving the area with several members of HOMRA, who have arrived to accompany him back home. Benzai prepares to fight them off though he is forced to draw back at Fushimi's orders.[10]
Outside the bridge to Ashinaka High School, Benzai waits alongside the rest of Scepter 4 for orders by their Captain. After an explosion is seen from the campus, Munakata orders his subordinates to advance.[11]
Scepter 4 appears at the front of the campus.
Scepter 4 makes their way to the campus where they are met by members of HOMRA, who rebuke Seri's warning to them and cheer on for the inevitable fighting. Benzai readily draws his saber to Seri's command and subsequently fights against the members of HOMRA alongside his Clansmen; among his primary opponents is Yō Chitose. The fighting is momentarily halted by a sudden explosion deeper within the campus, followed by an attack on Munakata from the HOMRA member whom he was protecting from the collateral damage, though they continue fighting shortly after. While fighting, Benzai turns to Dōmyōji and worriedly asks for confirmation on their Captain's safety; seeing their concerns, Seri tells them to stay composed and reminds them of their group combat potential.[11]
Later, a beam of silver light emerges from within Ashinaka High School, awing and confusing Benzai.[11]

- According to Zenjou, it's said that his swordsmanship is: "He's somewhat quiet but is trustworthy. He's good to be used as a rearguard."[12]
