Reisi Munakata (宗像礼司, Munakata Reisi) is the Fourth and Blue King and the Captain of Scepter 4.

Appearance[]

Munakata is a tall and muscular man with messy dark blue-black tinted hair that is parted to the left where it falls over his majestically handsome face, purple eyes, frameless rectangular-shaped glasses and broad shoulders, his military bearing making him seem even taller than he is.

As the King of Scepter 4, Munakata's outfit is quite similar to the standard uniform. He wears a high collared, long-sleeved dark blue trench coat left unzipped from the waist down; around it, there is a black belt with a gold-colored buckle strapping the two pieces of clothing together. Underneath his intricate coat, Munakata wears a white shirt with an upturned collar paired with a fancy cravat, dark blue pants, and knee-high black boots with silver metal frames.

When dressed casually, Munakata wears a black turtleneck underneath a buttoned up, gray jacket over black pants with keys strapped to one of the belt buckles on the left side, and brown mountain shoes.

Whether dressed casually, or in his standard uniform, he is very elegant.

Personality[]

Munakata is a sophisticated, observant and composed individual who is cautious in the battlefield. Although he is willing to use physical action in a fight, Munakata does attempt to win with victory through negotiation instead. He is a natural leader and generally puts the concern of innocent lives, and those of his men over his own.

He is also shown to be a strong willed, stubborn man who prefers to face his problems head on with his eyes open, and despises people who run away from them, as shown when he cuts Yashiro Isana off after the latter offers to share the burden of managing the Dresden Slate and whenever he faces the Gray King.

Munakata rarely loses his temper, often handling impossible situations in a calm, reasonable manner, but he is shown to be quite frightening when angered.

He seems to have a very punctilious side, taking a keen interest in anyone who measures up to his standards. This is shown as he personally chose to offer certain people to join his clan, even if they belong to another clan where he gave the offer to Saruhiko Fushimi, who initially refused but had joined eventually, as Munakata desired a hidden weapon user, along with Kuroh Yatogami who Munakata likes due to his conscientious character. Munakata shows a ruthless side to those he has no consonance with, even if they are the clansmen of Jin Habari, as he dismissed Hayato Minato and Akito Minato where the king mentions he "has no use for them in his Scepter 4.", although it is quite understandable since they, along with Gen Shiotsu, were collaborating with Kōshi Mizuchi at the time he had tortured Anna Kushina. His decision also showed his sense of justice towards others since he did not believe that anyone involved in the heartless torture of a little girl had any place in Scepter 4.

Though he possesses a general loathing towards Mikoto Suoh, Munakata still accepts him as a human being and seems to have been friends with him at some point, due to Izumo Kusanagi telling Mikoto that there is a "friend who wants to see him" (referring to Munakata) and Munakata implying several times that his relationship with Mikoto has changed from friendliness to the apparent hostility that is shown in the present. He takes immediate notice when his vice-commander Seri Awashima displays apparent disregard for his civil rights. However, he remained indifferent to how the idea could affect the Red King, even stating that it was a good one.

Munakata has a fondness for solving jigsaw puzzles such as block puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and any other type that requires building an orderly structure during his spare time. He also likes performing tea ceremony in his office or wherever it is where he dispatches to. He also smokes, although not very often.

He likes to socialize with his colleagues which leads to his coworkers to be afraid of him. He is often a quiet person and tranquil in nature, but when a situation calls for it, he tends to be quite talkative and rhetorical, which may often appear as mean and haughty. He seldom uses slang words and is known as one of the refined figures among the others, beside his Lieutenant Awashima. His verbal eloquence is a poignant trait of his character, which he often uses to negotiate. While seemingly cold and calculative most of the time, he relaxes around those he trusts; he speaks formally with Awashima even when they are alone, but speaks almost casually with Fushimi, even taking the time to tease him every now and then in a fatherly way since the said subordinate is his favorite.

Although there are also times he seems cruel, Munakata is revealed to be a good man who has no malice towards other clans, or Strains; in fact, when he displays this side of himself, he is shown to be very kind, and fatherly. This side is shown mostly with Anna Kushina since he cares for her, and watches over her from afar following Mikoto Suoh's death; he even goes out of his way to save her from an attack from <jungle> after she is kidnapped, and awakens as the Red King. It is also noticeable that he also supports her decisions, and allows her to use his first name to address him - something that no one else does, despite her apparent resentment and judgement of him. [3]When he finds a Strain baby at the gates of Tsubaki-mon, he takes him under his wing, seemingly oblivious to the hilarious uproar his men were in when they speculated if the child was his.[4] After Kuroh and Neko become targets of JUNGLE, he offers them sanctuary, and protection at the Scepter 4 headquarters.[5] When Fushimi defected from HOMRA to join Scepter 4, Munakata accepted him without question despite being well aware of his background.

Even though he does not openly display it, Munakata is shown to care for his third in command, Fushimi, in a paternal way, and trusts him with matters that others would deem impossible. In K: Lost Small World, it is shown how he had noticed Fushimi's hallucinations of his deceased father, Niki Fushimi during their second meeting when he nearly attacked one of his clansmen, and despite the severity of the situation, still gave him a chance to explain himself. Although he informed the young man that Scepter 4 was not a place for troubled children to take refuge, he still went out of his way to watch over and protect him from the Green King. When the Green King threatened Fushimi online, Munakata stepped in, forcing the said King to back down, and saving Fushimi from him. After the situation was diffused, the Blue King told Fushimi to bring only what he needed with him when he moved into the Scepter 4 dormitory. Despite Fushimi's protests and the arrival of the Red King, Munakata's presence obviously calmed the young man, although the latter wouldn't admit it.

It is possible that his invitation to Fushimi to join Scepter 4 was not only due to his desire to have a hidden weapon user in his clan, but also to protect him from the Green King since the latter seemed to have his eye on him - a threat that was always present, and something only both of them seemed to recognize. In K: return of Kings, he assigns him to infiltrate JUNGLE's Central Command by any means possible in case the Silver King's grand plan to protect the Dresden Slates fails. Despite the seemingly hostile nature of their argument following the theft of the Dresden Slates, Munakata is shown to be in emotional pain after Fushimi walks out in a stunned fury. Although he knew that his own death was possibly near due to his own Sword of Damocles rapidly crumbling, he still put Fushimi's safety before his own by revealing the truth about the mission he assigned the young man to his former best friend, Misaki Yata of HOMRA, indirectly asking the hotheaded youth to save him - which also led to both of them reconciling, and mending their friendship. He was shown to be burdened by the decision to place Fushimi at risk, and was determined to have his third in command return safely despite the chances of his own survival being very dim. Munakata even went the extra mile to make sure that Fushimi returned safely from his mission by paying Douhan Hirasaka, a freelance mercenary occasionally hired by JUNGLE to secure an escape route for him; when an injured Fushimi emerged from JUNGLE's hidden lair with the said mercenary following the destruction of the Dresden Slates, the Blue King smiled in relief and gratitude, welcoming him back, and congratulating him on a job well done.

He also shows an innocent, childish side to himself when trying to get along with his coworkers by playing games (to which he always wins) or whenever he sees a common object that interests him greatly. Munakata is also shown to have quite a mischievous sense of humor. Even when he decides to act particularly ridiculous, he maintains a calm, straight face, baffling and unnerving those around him ( e.g when he walked into the room with the Strain baby in a makeshift carrier around his neck; when the baby nearly brought the roof down while crying, Munakata announced at the last moment that he was a Strain ). He also seems to have a habit of startling the people around him, sometimes getting too close for comfort while teasing them, revealing that there are times that he has absolutely no sense of personal space. In K: Lost Small World, he repeatedly called the HOMRA bar - possibly just to annoy his rival, the Red King, Suoh; when Fushimi answered the phone just so it would stop ringing, the Blue King's casual talk baffled the young man, showing that there are times that even Munakata himself can act childish.

Munakata is shown to be confident in his role as a King. However, following the tragic events that lead to him being forced to kill Suoh, he seems broken, and burdened at times due to his guilt, although he still maintains his sense of honor and duty, and tries to handle everything in a calm manner. He keep tabs on HOMRA, and makes sure Kushina in particular, is kept safe; when he learns that she is kidnapped by JUNGLE, he wastes no time to go and rescue her, and saves her from their attack after she becomes the Red King. It is also noticeable that although Munakata agreed to the proposed alliance between the Blue, Red and Silver Clans for the sake of defeating JUNGLE, his resentment towards the Silver King for his role in his being forced to kill Suoh is apparent and he prefers that the said king stay out of his way regarding matters that he has no business in.

History[]

Reisi's Puzzle

Munakata playing with a puzzle during a conversation.

Munakata's personal life is wrapped in mystery, so very few individuals truly know what he does during his free time. Munakata had apparently been chosen as the Blue King in the summer of 2010, at the age of 21, during the engine failure of a plane where Munakata managed to save everyone, including himself and Seri Awashima, who is in the same flight as him, by using his newfound powers to freeze space and preventing the plane from crashing.

He lived with frugal parents that were very kind and happy. He also has an older brother named Taishi Munakata who "is a bit naive, but has a big heart." Munakata, does mention, however, that he was considered a strange child even by his own family even if he wasn't a Strain, because he was the only outstanding, high achieving member of the household. But he was not worshiped or avoided for it, he was simply loved as a member of the family. Supplementary novels reveal that he was very intelligent, and good at almost everything he did up to the point that he scared even his high school teachers with lectures. He also has the experience of studying abroad, where he received a government grant.

While playing around with a puzzle piece, Munakata was informed from Seri Awashima about HOMRA's involvement with the horse Strain. Though understanding of the situation, Munakata did not pay much mind to it.[6] He was later spotted by Anna Kushina as Mikoto Suoh led the horse Strain, momentarily unsettling her, but the Red King told her not to pay Munakata any mind, or else " the sly one will attack ". When Saruhiko Fushimi commented on the irony of the situation, he stated that he will not quarrel with the Red King over a petty issue, and proceeded to just watch from a distance.

Sometime later, Munakata found a Strain baby outside of the Scepter 4 gates and took the child in, not seeming to notice - or possibly paying no mind to - the comical uproar he sent his men into. He then left the child with them to take care of business ( resulting in no work being done for the entire day ), later chancing upon Fushimi reluctantly holding the child upon his return, and overhearing that he would be better off without his parents if they were worthless enough to abandon him. After voicing his own thoughts regarding family - his choice of words revealing that he is aware of Fushimi's painful past - he confirms that he had been speaking with members of the Gold Clan to see if the shackles that could suppress a Strain's powers could be used on the child. The Blue King then proceeds to put an accessory on the baby's wrist before Awashima arrives, and tells both men that the baby's mother is at the gates looking for him. Munakata then takes him from Fushimi, and shares a tender moment with him before the child leaves with his mother.

Sometime after Kushina's awakening as the new Red King, Munakata shocks his subordinates when he meets his older brother, Taishi Munakata, who is busy with the repairs on Mihashira Tower. Later that day, accompanied by Taishi, Fushimi, and Awashima, he arrives at his family home where he is greeted by his niece, Umi Munakata and Kai Munakata, which further shocks his two subordinates; when his parents and sister in law emerge, both Awashima and Fushimi notice how ordinary they seem. Munakata’s family runs a gardening and landscape business.

Details of his childhood are later revealed to his second and third in command: Reisi was very good at most of the things that he did, and whenever he had a point that he wanted to argue when he knew that he was right, he ended up scaring so many of his teachers that they ended up resigning.

Plot[]

ReisiVisitsMikoto'sCell

Munakata visiting Mikoto while the latter is in jail.

Munakata leads Scepter 4 into a hotel suite within Shizume City, preparing to face off against HOMRA with swords. He initially engages in battle against their leader, Mikoto Suoh,[7] but instead tries a more peaceful approach. He declares that he will apprehend Mikoto and asks whether he will resist. When his question is answered, Munakata locks him up in one of Scepter 4's cells.[8]

Mikoto and Reisi

The Kings having a discussion.

Later, Munakata goes to visit Mikoto in his cell,[8] accusing him of distributing the video of Tatara Totsuka's murder across the network.[7]

Munakata pulls a sleeping Mikoto by the head and slams it against a wall, waking him up. He states that Mikoto's "Weismann Level" is reaching its limit, adding that should his Sword of Damocles fall, it would bring forth a recreation of the Kagutsu Crater. Munakata adds that if he continues drawing power, he'd be forced to kill Mikoto. He summarizes that Mikoto should simply renounce his throne as the Red King. After Mikoto expresses his apparent indifference to the dire situation, Munakata softly states that he should find a way to lock up Mikoto forever. He is told that it is possible if he can monitor and confine the man himself alone. Munakata concludes that he cannot and leaves Mikoto.[8]

Munakata returns to his office where he discusses business with his subordinate, Seri Awashima, all the while playing with a jigsaw puzzle. He listens to Seri give her thoughts on what they can do instead with Mikoto. Munakata expresses interest in the plan though admits that it is without any concern for Mikoto's civil rights. The topic of their conversation turn to the gun used to kill Totsuka, as shown in his video. Munakata is given a detailed report of the gun, including its history with the Mafia. Afterwards, he has Seri issue a Level: Royal Blue.[8]

ReisiHavingADrink

Munakata having a drink in the rain.

That night, after it is revealed that their target is not a student at Ashinaka High School, Munakata leads his Clan to a soccer stadium to surround him and the "Black Dog", Kuroh Yatogami. He has his Clansmen go inside to infiltrate while he rests outside in the rain, drinking tea. During a sip, Fushimi informs him that the forces inside are on a losing streak. With this in mind, Munakata goes to the stadium's field, where he dispels an illusion caused by a then-unknown Strain. He thanks Seri for stalling their opponents before turning to the opposing side himself. However, he is left only to face Kuroh after the latter orders his allies to flee.[9]

Munakata vs Yatogami

Munakata's calm nature during his fight with Kuroh.

Munakata notices Kuroh drawing out his sword, Kotowari, formerly in the possession of the previous Colorless King. He points this out, causing Kuroh to launch multiple palm strikes and kicks at the Blue King. Munakata swiftly dodges each attack and manages to land damaging blows on the young teenager, eventually pinning him down. He proceeds to ask Kuroh questions about his intentions with the future Colorless King, Yashiro Isana.[9]

ReisiBeingPunched

Distracted, Munakata receives a punch to his face.

After Kuroh gives his responses, Munakata notices that Yashiro has returned. He sarcastically inquires whether he has forgotten something. He is told that Yashiro cannot leave his friends behind, to which Munakata says is a meaningless action. To his subsequent surprise, Yashiro summons a giant key-like object in the sky before attacking Munakata with a force of the same color. While Munakata counters with his Aura, Kuroh breaks free from his grasp and punches him, knocking off his glasses. Munakata soon discovers that both men have left, and is bemused at his own failure. He then retrieves his glasses from the ground. In the meantime, several pursuit squads are sent out to capture their targets.[9]

That following afternoon, When Munakata is having a tea party with Seri in his office,he learns that each squad has failed to bring back Yashiro or his two accomplices due to the heavy rain. Though disappointed, he simply remarks about how both he and Fushimi are unable to capture their targets, even making further note on Fushimi's exceptional tracking abilities. Munakata quickly notices Seri's dumpling topped with several scoops of red bean paste though he does not mention it, even though he is visibly sickened. Instead, he tells her that Yashiro and his two accomplices are very troublesome people.[10]

FushimiReportingToHisSuperiors

Fushimi reporting back to Munakata and Seri.

Shortly after, Fushimi enters the office to inform his superiors of a recent attack on one of the members of their pursuit squad. As it turns out, Kuroh Yatogami is responsible for the attack, and has additionally retrieved his victim's PDA. Munakata theorizes that their targets are trying to contact them. He asks whether any evidence is left behind. Fushimi reveals a screenshot of a note with 1400 written on one side, which alludes to the 14:00 clock time, merely fifteen minutes ahead. Subsequently, Munakata decides to wait until then to see what is to happen next.[10]

Reisi on the phone

Munakata speaks to Yashiro through his cell phone.

Fifteen minutes eventually pass by. Munakata receives a call on his cell phone and answers it to find that Yashiro is on the other end. He reveals to the teenager that he suspected he'd be the one to call him. Furthermore, Yashiro has executed a rather aggressive approach just to speak to him. Munakata allows Yashiro to have his word, though to his surprise, he hears from the latter that a man in an aircraft is involved with Tatara Totsuka's murder.[10]

Munakata then sends out Fushimi to continue his initial pursuit.[10]

Afterwards, he asks Yashiro about his knowledge of the man in the aircraft, soon discovering that the teenager knows little of him. Munakata informs Yashiro that the man in the aircraft is actually very important and thus, cannot be brought to matters at one's request, especially when the person with the request is under much suspicion. He suggests that Yashiro turn himself in, and in response, Munakata is offered a chance to do so should he bring the man in the aircraft to ground. Munakata points out the flaws in the offer but agrees to it nonetheless, though he tells Yashiro that he and his accomplices must turn themselves in once the plan has been fully executed. Munakata furthermore reveals that their new target is actually the Silver King, Adolf K. Weismann.[10]

Munakata Inside The Truck

Munakata speaking in one of the deployed vehicles.

Hours later, Munakata and several members of Scepter 4 gather inside trucks and head out to a local airport. During the ride, Munakata is informed that Weismann has not yet responded to them despite being messaged on three occasions already. He states that their Clan has done enough to contact him and will now bring Weismann to custody. Furthermore, upon mention of the matter from Seri, while such actions will be a violation of Protocol 120, Scepter 4 shall proceed forward with their operation and all further issues shall be dealt with personally by Munakata himself.[10]

MunakataPreparesToExplainMore

Munakata provides a diagram of the Himmelreich's many routes.

Munakata is then inquired as to why he is so forward with the plan. After studying the reactions from his Clansmen, he agrees to confess. He reveals that Weismann's blimp, Himmelreich, has suddenly been disrupted from its usual pathways across Shizume City. The first occurrence happened just days before thus bringing Weismann under much suspicion, which has easily caught Munakata's own attention. Once he has finished explaining his reasons, Munakata emerges from his seat in the truck, proclaiming that Scepter 4 will be bringing Weismann to custody.[10]

Scepter 4 eventually arrives at the airport where several Clansmen board the helicopters, then taking off towards the Himmelreich. Munakata remains on ground where he studies the night's activities from afar. Less than three minutes after take off, there is an explosion from within the Himmelreich, followed by an unexpected crash course into its engine by one of the helicopters, resulting in an even more destructive explosion in the night. As such, their mission to bring Weismann to custody results in utter failure.[10]

MunakataExaminesWeismann'sCorpse

Weismann's corpse being examined by Munakata.

That next morning, Munakata receives news that the Gold Clan has already retrieved Weismann's corpse from the ground. He later pays a visit to their headquarters with Gotō and Kamo as his escorts. Munakata is personally brought to see Daikaku Kokujōji though their greetings are somewhat hostile. Nonetheless, Munakata begins their conversation by thanking Kokujōji for authorizing Level: Royal Blue, then asking to examine Weismann's corpse for himself. He is then granted permission to do so. Munakata walks over to Weismann's corpse and studies his face intently. Sometime after, he leaves the building with Gotō and Kamo, while simultaneously commenting upon the statuses of both Kokujōji and Weismann.[11]

Seri Apologizing

Seri apologizes to Munakata for her previous actions.

Later, it is revealed that Mikoto Suoh escaped from his prison cell while Munakata is away. Munakata gathers up his Clansmen and proceeds to the bridge connecting to Ashinaka High School in different trucks. While occupying one of them, he is visited by Seri, who apologizes for her failures earlier. When she states that she will take responsibility, Munakata notes how arrogant it makes her appear to be.[12]

However, he quickly shrugs it off and they head outside together. They discuss briefly about the situation with HOMRA. They also talk about how it also involves the Colorless King, who alone is something like a "wild card" amongst the other King, something that Munakata despises especially when he is not in control of the "wild card". Once they're reaffirmed themselves of their main concern, Munakata asks Seri if he can make a selfish request. As he asks her that, he notices that it is now snowing.[12]

MunakataMeetsMikoto

Munakata offering some cigarettes.

That night, Munakata heads to the forests of Ashinaka High School where he waits for Mikoto to arrive. Mikoto eventually approaches him near a forest shrine and reminds him of how he didn't like "breathing the same air as him". Munakata responds that it is fine to have some toxins in his body and takes out a cigarette, offering one for Mikoto as well. He takes up the offer and lights both of their cigarettes.[12]

Munakata Strikes Up A Deal

Munakata makes a proposal to Mikoto about the situation.

After a bit of smoking, Munakata strikes up a deal with Mikoto, requesting that he relinquish the school and allow Munakata to kill Tatara Totsuka's murderer however the latter would prefer. When refused, Munakata finally tells Mikoto that he can no longer reign as King and reasons why, only to then be told that Mikoto has never taken action as King before. This infuriates Munakata and he pins down the other individual, reminding him of the dangers that he is inflicting on others, becoming visibly disgusted at Mikoto's indifferent response. After releasing Mikoto, the two look away from each other briefly. Munakata tells Mikoto that he is doing what he thinks is right so that he can help his friend before he leaves, returning back to his Clan.[12]

ExplosionSeenFromTheBridge

The explosion is clearly seen by Scepter 4.

That following morning, while stationed outside, Munakata reflects on his previous encounter with Mikoto from last night. Suddenly, a large explosion occurs on Ashinaka High School that the entire Scepter 4 group is able to see. Munakata turns to his Clansmen and finally says that it is time for them to go.[13]

Munakata leads his Clansmen to the school entrance. He says nothing and instead stares beyond a school building. Upon being pressed for orders, Munakata tells Seri that he is leaving her in charge for the time being. Following this, due to Seri's failed attempts to get the Red Clan to surrender, an all-out war commences between HOMRA and Scepter 4.[13]

EricStabbingMunakata

Munakata is unexpectedly stabbed in the left abdomen.

Munakata does not involve himself in the situation until a series of explosions begin occurring beyond the area. Using his Aura, Munakata runs across the battlefield midair, until another building is bombed. He notices a Red Clansman, Eric nearby about to be crushed from falling rubble, forcing Munakata to stop the rubble and save the man. He begins to suspect who is responsible for the incident when he is unexpectedly stabbed by Eric. Munakata simply looks at the man and immediately recognizes who he truly is. At that moment, Munakata's Aura dissipates and the rubble collapses on them both.[13]

Mikoto Suoh vs Reisi Munakata

Munakata clashes with Mikoto for the last time.

Somehow, Munakata manages to free himself and Eric. Munakata carries the young man with him as he goes walking towards the back of the school's campus. He finds that Mikoto has already engaged himself in a battle against Kuroh Yatogami and stops him, although he remains silent as he notices that Yashiro Isana, Kukuri, and Neko have arrived back at the scene, and all eyes have turned to him. Munakata then says that he now fully understands the situation, and tosses Eric aside as Mikoto tells him that they can cut to the chase, and he should just keep quiet and watch. Then, when Mikoto tries to attack Kuroh and his allies again, Munakata lunges forth and strikes at Mikoto. Their Auras flare up and they soon commence a chase throughout the forests nearby.[13]

While Munakata chases Mikoto, they end up destroying a number of trees, before they finally stop on a stone pathway. Although face-to-face, Munakata does not say anything, even after being spoken to. Suddenly, they notice a massive beam of silver light from afar. Munakata looks on in utter shock.[13]

After the Silver King's Sword of Damocles dissipates, Mikoto offers to let Munakata go and help his allies, only to have the latter adjust his glasses, and ask if he wanted to ruin the moment. Mikoto agrees, and states that this will be their last fight before taking a fighting stance; Munakata draws his saber, and their duel starts.[14]

Munakata and Mikoto are running along the stone path, with Munakata using his sword to hurl blue lightning bolts at Mikoto, with the latter either dodging the attacks, or countering them with his own. As Mikoto leaps and spins into the air, Munakata comes to a halt, and swings his sword to deliver another lightning bolt strike. Mikoto isn't affected, and as he makes a collision course with the ground, Munakata barely manages to spin away from the sudden flare of the Red King's attack, and distances himself to gain momentum. The Red King follows, and once again, Munakata barely manages to avoid the attack. Mikoto's aura flares, and Munakata's glasses crack as a result of the aftermath of the explosion while glancing up at the Red King's sword. When Mikoto asks if him if they're done yet, Munakata answers not yet, and that they're just getting started as he discards his broken glasses while smiling. Mikoto then tells him that he won't allow any more time outs, referring to how Munakata was holding back; Munakata retorts that Mikoto would never listen to him anyway.[14]

The fight between the Blue and Red Kings continues, and as they come to a momentary stop, the blood from the wound on Munakata's left side spreads; he is clearly wearing down due to the blood loss, and winces while Mikoto is catching his breath, his right hand charred. As they leap apart, Mikoto taunts Munakata, asking him if that is all he's got; he knows that the Blue King can do better. Munakata jokes that it's because he doesn't have his glasses on, while smiling wryly, and gesturing to his eyes, causing his rival to take note that he's not taking their fight seriously. Munakata then answers that one can never take things lightly when engaged in battle with the Red King himself, annoying the latter who reveals that he has always hated the Blue King's overly polite manner, and asks why he can't speak like a normal person. Munakata then tells him that as one of the Seven Kings, and the leader of Scepter 4, it is his duty to defeat him; personally, as Reisi Munakata, he wishes to help and save Mikoto. As he states the latter, his eyes tremble, giving him away. Mikoto scoffs, and launches another attack him while shouting that it is unlike him.[15]

As their fight continues, the kings leap back to catch their breaths, smiling grimly.

Mikoto and Munakata lunge at each other, despite the pain that the Blue King is experiencing, only for their clash to be brought to an abrupt halt by Yashiro, who lands between them; with his umbrella, he pushes Munakata back several feet, while offering the Red King the chance to kill the Colorless King trapped within him. Mikoto's expression goes from serious to delighted as he thanks Yashiro for bringing his enemy to him, and prepares to attack. Munakata moves forward, shouting at the Red King not to go through with his intention of slaying his friend's murderer, but to no avail. As the Red King plunges his flaming fist into the Silver King's chest, his aura skyrockets, causing a fiery explosion, and Munakata has to shield his eyes from the glare.[15]

As the smoke clears, and the Red King exhales with an air of finality, Munakata's eyes are on his Sword of Damocles which is clearly about to fall. He shifts his eyes to glare at Mikoto who apologizes for making him doing the dirty work, and tells him not to give him that rubbish while looking at peace with himself. Munakata then asks him why he didn't do something before this happened if he was really sorry, his voice cracking with defeat and pain; he lowers his head and closes his eyes as he speaks, not seeing Mikoto close his own eyes in acknowledgement of his words, and his desperation to save him. Munakata lifts his eyes to look at Mikoto as the latter tells him that he's said enough, and sees him spread his arms while looking up at his Sword of Damocles. The Blue King despairs at the sight of the crumbling sword that is about to fall, and as it does, he makes a fateful decision.[15]

Just before the Red King is crushed by his sword, Munakata runs him through with his saber, his eyes closed against the sight of what he was forced to do, and the blood that spread through the air as a result. The Red King's Sword of Damocles dissolves into millions of tiny red stars that disappear into the sky, and fall slowly to the ground; as the last of the sparks fall, Mikoto, clearly weakening, groans slightly, and leans forward, grasping Munakata's shoulders. Munakata remains still, a shell shocked, sad expression on his face as Mikoto bids Anna goodbye, while apologizing for not being able to show her the beautiful red that she likes so much anymore, although there is no sound as he speaks. As Mikoto dies, his blood spilling onto the snow, Munakata, catches him gently with his left arm, allowing himself to look at the latter. Sometime later, he returns to his clansmen, and despite their joyful shouts at the sight of him, he is clearly pained, although he tries to appear stoic as he reaches into his coat pocket with bloody fingers, and removes his glasses, putting them back on. [15]

K: Missing Kings[]

Munakata is seen standing on a rooftop gazing at his own Sword of Damocles with a somber, troubled expression, and notices that it is starting to rain. Later that night, as it rains, Scepter 4 is alerted to the Gold King's territory due to the Green Clan's infiltration. Munakata emerges from the truck, and Awashima shields him from the rain with an umbrella, urging him to give the order to start an attack on the Green Clan. After observing the situation, he orders everyone to standby, surprising Awashima and Fushimi, while commenting that the Green Clan has finally come out of hiding.

Sometime later, possibly after a few days, he is in his office listening to Fushimi's report about the infiltration of Mihashira Tower while watching footage from a surveillance camera of a masked intruder walking through walls. He and Fushimi get into a petty struggle about the proper term for the said intruder, which clearly irritates Fushimi; he refers to the intruder as a " ninja ", while Fushimi refers to him as a " masked man ". During their squabble, while Munakata is obviously enjoying himself, Fushimi points out that the person in the video kidnapped Anna Kushina, and whatever is the reason behind it can't possibly be good, making the comical scene in the office turn serious; Munakata announces that he is now aware of the enemy's intention, and decides that it is time to head out to Mihashira Tower, and as both men descend the stairs, he asks Fushimi who had asked him for help. When Fushimi asks if he's obligated to answer, Munakata answers in the negative, stating that he trusts Fushimi's work; his accompanying smile indicates that he knows the identity of who had asked Fushimi for help.

Upon arriving at Mihashira Tower that evening, he is among those who witness the awakening of Anna Kushina's power after the Red Clan's Sword of Damocles appears, and remains silent as an explosion causes rubble from the said tower to fall around the area. He then uses his aura to dissolve the attack on Anna and her rescuers after she collapses, and gives a satisfied smile.

The next morning, Munakata and the rest of Scepter 4 await Anna's exit from the tower, and he watches as his men salute her awakening as the new Red King. When Anna goes to meet him, he greets her with a gentle smile, and after she thanks him for saving her and her friends, he tells her that she wouldn't have needed his help if she'd been in her best condition, and acknowledges that the Green King, Nagare Hisui should be watched carefully since he is a very troubling person. After the rest of the Red Clan arrive, and express their relief that Anna is alright, both the Blue and Red Kings agree to leave Mihashira Tower under Scepter 4's surveillance, and that Munakata will be entrusted with full responsibility. Munakata then notices Anna looking at his sword, and removes it, presenting it to her with a saddened expression, and confirms that he'd slain Mikoto Suoh with it. As she touches the sword, both clans become tense, preparing for a possible clash, but it doesn't happen. Anna then tells Munakata that he'd done what Mikoto had wished, so she won't hate him for it, but she doesn't want to thank him for it, either. Munakata smiles, and states that it is how it should be.

Later, in the post credits scene, Munakata is standing outside of Mihashira Tower as repairs are being made, and sees a crack appear in his Sword of Damocles, a result of the burden he has to bear from killing Mikoto Suoh, the former Red King. He states that he will accept the challenge before turning to go inside the said tower with Seri Awashima and Saruhiko Fushimi following.

K Countdown[]

Reisi has spent more time at Mihashira Tower than at the Scepter 4 headquarters. Upon hearing Seri Awashima's report on Anna's status as the new Red King, he smiles, and adjusts his glasses, saying that she is not one to be underestimated despite being so young.

K Return of Kings[]

Munakata and Scepter 4 are shown in a flashback where they went up against HOMRA, and then later fight off <jungle> lackeys after they insulted the latter. He uses his aura to shield the Blue and Red Clans from the explosion caused by the said minions before stating his disgust at the <jungle> lackeys' cheap tactics, and mentions that he hopes that they are ready to face the consequences of their actions since Scepter 4's detention cells aren't comfortable before calmly walking into the line of fire while keeping his shield up, and dissolving the bullets fired at him.[16]

He summons Kuroh for debriefing and questioning. When it came to asking about the Silver King, Kuroh is unable answer. Munakata offers sanctuary at their headquarters, but Kuroh refuses, prompting the Blue King to tease the young man. After Kuroh leaves, he has Fushimi tail him as he is one of <jungle's> targets, ignoring his subordinate's observation that he spends more time in the Chamber of the Dresden Slate than at Tsubaki-mon. Later, as he is in the Chamber of the Dresden Slate, he commands the Dresden Slate to obey him, suppressing its power.[17]

When Yashiro returns, Munakata senses his return while in the Chamber, and attends the meeting between the Silver, Red, and Blue Clans, agreeing to the proposed alliance to stop <jungle>. He cuts through Neko's giddy, ecstatic declaration that she won't let Shiro out her sight by calmly, and sarcastically stating that they should get on with the meeting which he dubs the "Tea Table Conference". Later, as he is leaving, Yashiro confronts about his role in managing the Slate, and he answers formally, although it is clear that he resents Yashiro implying that he wants to take over the role of the late Gold King.[18]

When Yashiro offers to share the burden of managing the Dresden Slate, Munakata harshly cuts him off, asking him why he should trust someone who ran away from his responsibilities before, and states that he will accept his assistance in stopping the Green Clan; his preference that Yashiro stay out of his way on other matters is left unspoken, but remains thick in the air before he excuses himself and leaves.

He is later seen handing the Prime Minister some papers, and formally stating that he will be the one to take charge of the Dresden Slate, not noticing Seri Awashima's look of unease. He sits quietly during the meeting between the Blue, Red, and Silver Clans at Mihashira Tower as Yashiro lays out his plans to prevent the Green Clan from achieving their goal of stealing the Slate, only speaking up to say that it would depend on the strategy that will be used in the plan. After the meeting is adjourned, he is shown speaking with Fushimi, although their conversation isn't heard before both men leave the conference, while being observed by the Silver and Red Kings; Anna whispers the Blue King's name.

When Nagare Hisui barges into the Chamber of the Dresden Slate, exulting that he has reached his goal, Munakata corrects him, telling him "Sorry, no goal yet," before blasting him with a lightning bolt from his sword, cutting off his path. After Hisui lands, Munakata points his sword at his throat, and asks him if he enjoyed his rampage, taking notice of how he was like a wild animal.

When Hisui refers to Neko by her birth name - which she doesn't seem to remember - Munakata comments how Scepter 4 hadn't been able to deduce her identity, and she is too unique to use as an example of an ordinary human being. He also calls Hisui arrogant for thinking that he is more suitable to manage the Dresden Slate, asking him if he means that the said Slate are just a source for chaos since it is not to be managed in Hisui's opinion, but released. When Hisui answers that there is no meaning, Munakata activates his Sanctum, reminding Hisui of the situation he is in - that his power is almost exhausted, and his physical heart had been lost during the Kagutsu Crater, even pointing out that he is a dead man, and that once his power runs out, he is like a toy with a dead battery; he is also unfit to battle Munakata for possession of the Dresden Slate.

Once Hisui points out that it will not be him, but someone else that the Blue King will be fighting, Munakata is put on guard, especially when the Chamber fills with a fog that blocks out everyone's vision. He then comes to the conclusion that the Green King's inexplicable confidence, and reckless actions are due to having a trump card, before dispelling the fog, and revealing the Gray King.

Both Kings then engage in battle, Munakata being hampered by Iwafune's fog, resulting in him sustaining serious injuries, and his sword being broken in half, before the Slate are stolen, and his Sword of Damocles falls into an even more damaged condition. Later, he is shown to be in a depressed mood while tending to his wounds in the back of a Scepter 4 vehicle while speaking with Fushimi.

When Fushimi asks what their next move will be, he tells him to ask Yashiro since he has been defeated, causing his subordinate to snap, and ask him if he is just going to sit and sulk before accusing him of trying to take the late Gold King's place so he could mold the world to his liking. Fushimi then backs down after being warned by his comrades that he is going too far, and tells Munakata that he will resign if the Blue King bails out now. Munakata then challenges him to do so, telling him that he is used to being a traitor anyway. The entire time that he is stating this, Munakata is shown clenching his fists as if in pain, although it is not seen by Fushimi, or his other men. Munakata then goes on to say that Fushimi doesn't know the meaning of loyalty since he couldn't commit to one King, although he couldn't remove himself from the influence of the Slate, before calling him pathetic. When Fushimi leaves his saber, and Scepter 4 uniform behind before stalking off in stunned anger, Munakata tells his men to let him leave when asked if they should stop him while still clenching his fists.

One month later, while sitting in his office, he is informed by Seri of Fushimi's defecting to the Green Clan before Gōki Zenjō enters, apparently having taken the said subordinate's place. Munakata smiles and remains calm when Zenjō frightens Seri by slicing a wasp that was about to sting him in half with his saber, stating that Zenjō will now be the one to watch his back.

He is later dismissed from his duties as the Captain of Scepter 4 as a result of the Dresden Slate being stolen, and arrives at the HOMRA bar in civilian clothing, greeting Anna and Kusanagi. He then asks why Anna summoned him, and confirms to Kusanagi that he smokes on very rare occasions as the said barman lights his cigarette and sets an ashtray in front of him.

Anna then reveals the Yashiro's plan to destroy the Slate, and he acknowledges that it may be one way to neutralize the situation that is taking place, and that destroying them would mean avenging the late Mikoto Suoh's death. Kusanagi then tells him that it's not that simple, pointing out that the Slate gave, but demanded too much, destroying them wouldn't exactly even the score, but they should be destroyed nonetheless.

Munakata agrees that the Slate is dangerous, although he points out that the late Gold King wouldn't have been able to make the country as powerful as it is today without it, and the system cannot be lost since the Slate is deeply rooted in it, and affirms that as the Blue King, he will reinforce order, considering the roles of the other Kings. Kusanagi tells him that he is in no position to make such a statement, and Anna reminds him that his Sword of Damocles will fall if he pushes himself any further, making Munakata laugh, and confess how he had told the late Mikoto Suoh the same thing, although his late friend ignored his warnings. He turns to Anna when she says his name softly, and is stunned when she reminds him that he is different from Mikoto.

A flashback then elaborates the fight between HOMRA and Scepter 4. Reisi Munakata tells Mikoto Suoh to stand down since the situation is being handled by Scepter 4, but the Red King refuses, and Kusanagi asks that the Strains that were arrested be handed over to them for questioning. The Blue Clan refuses, and Munakata states that HOMRA is nothing but trouble, thus both clans start to clash once again. Munakata tells Mikoto in friendly exasperation that he is very unpleasant, since he has lost count of the many times that the Red King interfered since he had become the Blue King, causing Mikoto to mutter that that was his line. When Munakata reminds him not to use his power so carelessly since that was not the purpose he was chosen as one of the Seven Kings, the Red king scoffs.

Munakata then states that Mikoto's title of the King of Destruction fits him well since he uses his power recklessly by saying that he makes him sick.

As both Kings fight, Mikoto tells him that the title King of Order fits Munakata since he likes to interfere with other people's lives with his long and boring lectures, and repeats the Blue King's line in his own way.

It is noted that the entire time both men are fighting, they are smiling, obviously enjoying themselves.

The Red King then challenges the Blue King by asking if he never tires of being a straight arrow, to which Munakata scowls, and reminds Mikoto that they are different, which the latter acknowledges. Munakata then expresses his thoughts in the present on how he never thought that he would be the one reprimanded, and tells Anna that the alliance between the three clans is no longer valid since he can no longer help them due to his being dismissed as the Captain of Scepter 4.

Kusanagi then reminds him that although he is no longer the Captain of Scepter 4, he is still the Blue King, and asks what he plans on doing now that his clansmen are in disarray. Munakata then takes his leave, ignoring Anna as she calls to him, trying to stop him from his intention. As he is walking through town, and sees the pillar of light erupting from the Dresden Slate, he confirms that it has started, and that he no longer has to go searching for the Green Clan's hideout. He glances at his hand, and vows that he will fight until his last breath even if he doesn't know how long he will last. He starts in surprise as the voice of the late Red King tells him that it isn't like him before smiling sheepishly, and states " I know, right?". He then continues on his way.

Munakata and Zenjō approach the Green Clan's hideout, and confront the <jungle> lackeys who spot them. The Blue King confirms that the pillar of light from the stolen Dresden Slate was visible for 15 minutes and 30 seconds, so it was impossible not to notice. When Zenjō comments that there are many of <jungle>'s lackeys, and asks if he wants him to lead off, Munakata responds in the negative; he even reminds Zenjō that he is no longer the Captain of Scepter 4, but an ordinary king as he walks through the yellow tape forming a barricade. As the <jungle> lackeys prepare to attack, Munakata smiles and advances, his aura forming a barrier protecting him from the bullets being fired at him from all sides.

A <jungle> sniper tries to attack him from behind, but Zenjō deflects the attack, apologising for the interruption, only to have the Blue King note that not blocking the attack would have saved him the trouble. Zenjō replies that the Captain must be joking. He then states is all they have to do now is wait.

Munakata seems slightly unsettled when Iwafune emerges from the suddenly opened gates of the Green Clan's hideout, and greets them. The Blue King then tells Zenjō that there is no need for him to assist him, and focus on the task at hand, to which the former acknowledges. After the Gray King, and Zenjō trade barbs, the former activates his sanctum, enveloping the surroundings in fog, while declaring that they can bring as many as they want, but will never get past him. Munakata remains silent as he prepares to draw his sword, only for the three men to witness the Yashiro's airship, Schattenreich descending from the sky while barely missing them, and making a crash landing, momentarily dissolving the fog. Iwafune assumes that it is unlike Munakata to serve as a decoy for the Schattenreich, but the Blue King corrects him, telling that there has been a misunderstanding; he had nothing to do with the Schattenreich, and still intends to be Iwafune's opponent. He then draws his saber, and prepares to face Iwafune, smiling.

Reisi is shown in Yata's flashback where he reveals that the argument between him and Fushimi had been a ruse so that the latter could infiltrate <jungle>; he even apologizes because the chances of Fushimi dying with him are a major possibility. He reveals that he gave Fushimi orders to infiltrate <jungle>'s central command by any means possible if the Silver King's plan fails, and the Dresden Slate is stolen. Although Munakata and Fushimi knew the risks, and the chances of the latter coming back alive were almost impossible, Fushimi accepted the mission without question. When confronted by an angry Yata about why he put his own Clansman in danger, the Blue King reminds Yata that Scepter 4 is a Clan that stands for order, and will not allow chaos to reign, or for <jungle> to triumph. He then smiles knowingly, and states that the only way for Fushimi to come out alive would be to betray him and truly join <jungle>; Yata knows Fushimi better than anyone else since he is an old friend.

In the present, the face off between Munakata and the Gray King is under way, with the Blue King's Sword of Damocles falling apart.

Iwafune seems to have the upper hand, even pistol whipping Munakata, and knocking him down at one point before the tide turns by the arrival of Scepter 4, with Seri Awashima placing herself protectively in front of the Blue King, and asking if he's alright. As Munakata rises, he finds that his men have created a protective barricade in front of him; although he protests, and reminds them that he is no longer the Captain of Scepter 4, his clansmen remain firm, and vow to fight beside him until the end. Munakata's resolve then strengthens, and he recites Scepter 4's shibboleth.

Munakata's clansmen draw their swords, and Iwafune mocks them for their code of honor, telling them that reality isn't as pretty before firing his gun. As Scepter 4 endures the impact of the Iwafune's bullet against their barrier, Munakata charges forward with a fierce look in his eyes, calling Iwafune out on being a man who fled from tragedy, and seeing reality with clouded eyes. He deflects the Gray King's bullets with his saber, reminding him that Nagare Hisui died a long time ago, and that he is helping a dead man trying to create paradise. Iwafune shouts that he knows that, and fires again, only to have Munakata deflect the bullets again, and use his aura to distract him; the Blue King then finishes the fight by dealing an apparently fatal slash to Iwafune.

Iwafune collapses, and Munakata calmly states Scepter 4's shibboleth while looking skywards. Before the Iwafune's eyes close, he tells him to go on believing what he wants, and see where it gets him. As Scepter 4 exults that they won, Munakata's power crackles around him, indicating that his Sword of Damocles is about to fall. Seri Awashima urges him to undo his sanctum, to which he calmly replies that he already did, but his will isn't enough anymore. Seri Awashima then places herself between him, and the rest of Scepter 4, promising to be the one to slay the Captain if need be, although she almost falters.

As Scepter 4 arrests the <jungle> lackeys, Awashima's eyes are drawn to Munakata who is standing at the edge of the subterranean entrance to <jungle>'s lair; as the aura around his Sword of Damocles crackles, he tells her not to hesitate when the inevitable moment arrives, a resigned edge to his voice.

Later, as he watches Anna Kushina harnessing the power of the Red Clan to create a pathway, her aura flares up, momentarily blinding Munakata who uses his hand to shield his eyes from the bright glare. When he lowers his hand, he is stunned to see the late Mikoto Suoh standing behind Anna, apparently there to guide her, and lend her his strength. As his eyes widen in surprise, his old friend and rival glances at him in greeting with a faint smile; Munakata smiles back in response.

Munakata remains quiet as he watches the Silver King's Sword of Damocles fall into the hole created by Anna Kushina, and a silver beam of light is emitted, resulting in the three remaining Swords vanishing. The crackling around him disappears, and he murmurs in wonder that his life had been spared. As Awashima calls his name, and runs to him in relief, he chuckles softly, and turns to greet her, telling her that he had been curious to see if she really could slay him, thanking her for her efforts. When she replies that his gratitude will not be enough this time, he gives her a bewildered look before she gives him an offscreen punch that results in his glasses flying off; Gōki Zenjō stares for a moment before smiling in relief.

Iwafune's bombs detonate, and Munakata - still sporting a red mark after the punch Awashima gave him - orders her to have everyone evacuate. As she carries out his orders, Munakata turns back to the entrance, a worried look on his face. He is then surprised as Saruhiko Fushimi emerges behind him, supported by Douhan Hirasaka due to his injuries. When Fushimi confirms that the mission has been accomplished, Munakata smiles at him in relief, congratulating him on a job well done.

Munakata is later shown in the closing credits to have been reinstated as the Captain of Scepter 4 and seems to now be at peace with himself.[19]

Powers & Abilities[]

  • Blue Aura: As the Blue King and leader of Scepter 4, Munakata possesses the Blue Aura. When exerted, the Aura has the defensive potential to protect Munakata and his subordinates against a direct attack from the flames of Mikoto Suoh, known as the king of HOMRA and an incredibly powerful combatant.
  • Master Swordsman: Munakata is a highly skilled swordsman, proficient in wielding a saber.[20]
  • Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: With seemingly very little effort, and without drawing his saber, Munakata was able to completely overpower and outmaneuver Kuroh Yatogami.
  • Strong Will and Determination: Munakata is shown to be strong willed and determined even in seemingly hopeless situations, refusing to turn tail and run. Even after seeing that his Sword of Damocles is beginning to crumble as a result of the burden of guilt he carries on his shoulders after he is forced to kill Mikoto Suoh in order to prevent a Damocles Down after the latter killed the Colorless King trapped in the Silver King's body, he still managed to stay focused. After his humiliating defeat at the hands of the Gray King, he singlehandedly faces the JUNGLE lackeys guarding the entrance to the Green Clan's hideout with only minor assistance from Gōki Zenjō; during their rematch, he refuses to back down even while at a disadvantage, eventually regaining his confidence at the appearance of the Special Squad, leading to his victory over the Gray King.
  • Foresight and Strategy: Munakata was already able to see that there were many loopholes in the Silver King's seemingly flawless plan to protect the Dresden Slates from the Green Clan. Although he never revealed in until later, he foresaw the failure of the plan, resulting in him assigning his third in command, Saruhiko Fushimi to infiltrate JUNGLE's hidden lair as a spy; knowing that Fushimi may end up paying with his life for accepting the dangerous mission once his cover was blown, he also ensured the said clansman's survival and safety by revealing the details of the secret mission to his former best friend, Misaki Yata, even paying Douhan Hirasaka out of his own pocket to have him brought out safely.
  • High Level of Intelligence: Munakata’s intelligence is beyond the scope of ordinary people’s imagination. From an observer’s viewpoint, when presented with a problem, he provides the solution immediately, seemingly without spending any time on considering it.[21]
  • Illusion Breaking: Munakata's Aura was able to effortlessly break and disintegrate one of Neko's most powerful illusions to date, despite it being strong enough to completely alter the perceptions of a squad of Blue Clansmen lead by Seri Awashima, as well as Kuroh Yatogami and Yashiro Isana, over a large area.
  • Force Field: Munakata can manifest his aura into force fields where he can use it as stepping stones to get into a higher places or as a barrier to protect himself and his surrounding.[13]

Equipment[]

Reishi's Rapier

Sirius (Munakata's saber)

Sirius (天狼, Tenrō):[1] Munakata wields a saber in combat. The handle is golden colored with a streak of blue near the tip, which is adorned with a sphere that emits a green light when Munakata is about to unsheathe the weapon. The button appears to be connected to the sheathe; once it emits the light, the lock on the hilt is released. The sheathe is dark blue and contains several golden colored straps over it.[7]

    • It can also mean "decorum" and "to govern".

The Three Munakata Goddesses were believed to be the sea goddesses.

Trivia[]

  • Munakata's hobbies are tea ceremonies and puzzles.[22]
  • Due to Munakata's mysterious personal life, quite a few rumors about the Blue King, Munakata Reisi, floated around Scepter 4. According to them, he slept only 1 hour a day. No, worse: he didn’t sleep at all. When he was little, he was so smart that a foreign Ministry of Information tried to headhunt him. He had 200 pairs of the same glasses. He was secretly married. When he was drunk, his blue aura turned pink. And actually, he liked pink more than blue. He could do a handstand on his left pinkie. The glasses were his real form, and when he took them off, his personality changed dramatically. Et cetera. Although there probably were some truths mixed in, but for most part those rumors were either baseless idle talk or downright folk tales. [23]
  • In the past, Munakata had taken the first place in mock exams countrywide for many years in a row and had served as the student council president from starting elementary school to graduating from university. He even wrote a report on Confucius and Spinoza when he was a grade schooler.[24]
  • Munakata holds the record of fighting the most kings during the series by killing Mikoto Suoh, the former Red King, momentarily incapacitating Nagare Hisui, the Green King during the Christmas Eve attempt to prevent JUNGLE from stealing the Dresden Slates, and mortally wounding the Gray King, Tenkei Iwafune during their second face-off.
